I've never really used BT under Ubuntu, only with Xubuntu which uses blueman. Recently i tried my bt headset on ubuntu only to find out nothing really works, it doesnt even detect the headset. in the end the only real solution was to install blueman, atop ubuntu, keep both BT icons since i can't remove the unity forced original one based on gnome-bluetooth, and be roughly happy.
Its a patched solution, and it seems this has been a problem for a long while. I found posts about the same issue going back years, and the only solution is => install blueman!
Great, it only shows canonical's lack of interest really, BT is such an important aspect of the platform... Not for them apparently.
Anyways what are your experiences? Has anyone had a good time with the standard BT unity setup?
Have you tried headsets?Feel free to comment.
