I wanted to use Ubuntu in my lab for a remote desktop server. Installed it on two servers, installed keepalived (which is awesome and easy to configure, installed X11RDP from the X11RDP-o-Matic script, Got allof my apps working and remote desktop logins working very nicely.
The thing that killed it for me was that no matter what I di I could not get my new servers to resolve with my local DNS. I spent a day and a half reading the resolvconf documentation, posts on the web and followed allof the instructions from the resolvconf user community and then I had had enough. I have been using UNIX , LINUX and many other operating systems for years and I've never had such a hard time figuring something out. I work for a living and I couldn't afford to waste any more time. I've trashed my Ubuntu installations and am now in the process of installing CentOS on the servers.
